JNC recommends candidates for State Courts of Coweta and DeKalb Counties, and the Superior Court of the Paulding Judicial Circuit

The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted recommendations to fill vacancies within the State Courts of Coweta and DeKalb Counties and in the Superior Court of the Paulding Judicial Circuit.  The vacancies within the State Courts of Coweta and DeKalb Counties were created by the resignation of the Honorable John Herbert Cranford, and the resignation of the Honorable Johnny Panos, respectively.  The vacancy in the Superior Court of the Paulding Judicial Circuit was created by the resignation of the Honorable Tonny S. Beavers.

Governor Kemp will fill the vacancies from among the lists.  The Governor’s Office will contact candidates to schedule interviews.

The following names were submitted to Governor Kemp:

State Court of Coweta County

• John B. Cunningham – partner, Thompson, Wallin & Cunningham, LLC; Municipal Court Judge, City of Franklin
• Matthew S. Swope – Senior Assistant District Attorney, Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office

State Court of DeKalb County

• Charles E. Bailey – Judge, State Court of DeKalb County
• Phyllis R. Williams – Associate Judge, DeKalb County Magistrate Court; Administrative Hearing Officer, DeKalb County Human Resources Merit System

Paulding Judicial Circuit

• Howard M. Delashmit – founding partner, Brumlow, Corwin & Delashmit, PC
• Matthew W. Rollins – District Attorney, Paulding Judicial Circuit
