The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted recommendations to fill two vacancies within the Superior Court of the Mountain Judicial Circuit.  The vacancies were created by the resignation of the Honorable B. Chan Caudell and the passing of the Honorable Russell William “Rusty” Smith. 

Governor Kemp will fill the vacancies from among the list.

The following names were submitted to Governor Kemp:

  • B. Nichole Carswell – Juvenile Court Judge, Mountain Judicial Circuit; Presiding Judge, Mountain Judicial Circuit Family Dependency Treatment Court
  • Carlton H. “Hobie” Jones, III – Probate Judge, Rabun County
