The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted recommendations to fill vacancies within the State and Superior Courts of Cobb County.  The vacancy in Division I of the Cobb County State Court is being created by the retirement of the Honorable David P. Darden.  The vacancy in the Superior Court of the Cobb Judicial Circuit is a new judgeship created by Act 493 (House Bill 786) during the 2020 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Governor Kemp will fill the vacancies from among the lists.  The Governor’s Office will contact candidates to schedule interviews.

Cobb County State Court

  • D. Austin Gillis – Counsel, Gregory Doyle Calhoun & Rogers, LLC
  • Jaret Teague Usher – Division Director, Georgia Bureau of Investigation

 

Cobb Judicial Circuit

  • Julie Adams Jacobs – Deputy Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General
  • Ashley J. Palmer – Senior Assistant County Attorney, Office of the Fulton County Attorney
  • Henry R. Thompson – Judge, State Court of Cobb County, Division II
