The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted recommendations to fill vacancies within the Superior Courts of the Griffin and Southern Judicial Circuits.  The vacancy within the Griffin Judicial Circuit was created by the passage of House Bill 28 during the 2019 Session of the Georgia General Assembly.  The vacancy within the Southern Judicial Circuit was created by the resignation of the Honorable Harry Jay Altman II.  Gov. Kemp will fill the vacancies from the recommendations provided.  The Governor’s Office will contact candidates to schedule interviews.

Griffin Judicial Circuit

  • Maria Greene Broder – Chief Assistant District Attorney, Griffin Judicial Circuit
  • Benjamin D. Coker – District Attorney, Griffin Judicial Circuit
  • Ben J. Miller, Jr. – Presiding Judge, Juvenile Court, Griffin Judicial Circuit
  • Jason B. Thompson – Judge, Fayette County State Court

 

Southern Judicial Circuit

  • James L. (Jim) Prine, II – Senior Assistant District Attorney, Southern Judicial Circuit
