The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted recommendations to fill vacancies within the State Courts of Clarke and Clayton Counties.  The vacancy in the State Court of Clarke County was created by the resignation of the Honorable Ethelyn N. Simpson, and the vacancy in the State Court of Clayton County was created by the resignation of the Honorable Linda S. Cowen.

Governor Kemp will fill the vacancies from among the lists.  The Governor’s Office will contact candidates to schedule interviews.

Clarke County State Court

  • Ryan S. Hope – Judge, Municipal Court of Athens-Clarke County
  • Benjamin Makin –Chief Magistrate Judge, Clarke County

 

Clayton County State Court

  • Sonyja J. George – Presiding Judge, Clayton County Magistrate Court
  • Atha H. Pryor – Associate Judge, Clayton County Probate Court
  • Tameka A. West – Associate Judge, Clayton County Magistrate Court
