TO:      ALL MEMBERS OF THE BAR AND ALL CITIZENS OF DEKALB COUNTY

This is to provide notice to members of the Bar and the public that the Judicial Nominating Commission for the State of Georgia, created by an Executive Order of Governor Brian Kemp, is now engaged in the process of receiving names of persons to fill a vacancy in the Traffic Division of the State Court of DeKalb County created by the appointment of the Honorable Shondeana C. Morris to the Superior Court of the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit.

You are invited to submit nominations for this vacancy.  Members of the Bar may submit their own name or the names of others.  The public is also invited to submit nominations. Nominations should be submitted to the Commission by email at [email protected] or by letter addressed to: Judicial Nominating Commission, c/o Vincent Russo, 500 14th Street, N.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30318.  Please include a current email address for anyone you nominate.  Nominations must be received by the Commission no later than June 21, 2019. 

The application package is available on the Commission’s website at www.jnc.georgia.gov.  An application package will also be emailed to each nominee who supplies an email address to the Commission. Applications must be returned to the Commission on or before July 5, 2019.  The Commission will meet to interview applicants sometime after July 8, 2019.  Applicants selected for an interview will be notified of the date and time for their interview.  All interviews will be held at The State Bar of Georgia, 104 Marietta Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.

The Commission will select and recommend to the Governor a short list of up to three persons from those applicants interviewed and found to be “qualified” or “well qualified” for this position.
